Tip:

Be Sure to Change Your AC Filter Regularly

Change the filter on your air conditioner regularly.

Why?

Because when airflow over the evaporator coil is reduced, the coil runs colder. With an excessively cold coil, the refrigerant doesn't pick up the necessary heat to return to the gaseous state so it remains a liquid longer in the coil. This backlog of refrigerant causes the compressor discharge pressure to increase.

Also, the oil will tends to trap in a cold coil. So because of a dirty filter, you have a compressor running harder and longer than it should will less oil to lubricate it. That means higher electricity consumption and shorter compressor life.

So, it is smart money to change the filter on your air conditioner regularly.

Installing new air filter regularly is hundreds of times cheaper than replacing a burned-out compressor!
